Though her deal with the devil seems like a good idea at the time, Allison soon realizes that being gorgeous isn't as easy as it looks. Are her new friends and boyfriend for real, or do they just like her pretty face? Allison can't trust anyone anymore, and her possessed phone and her family's financial crisis aren't making things any easier. Plus when she finds out that she might be America's next teen model, all hell breaks loose. Allison may be losing control, but how far is she willing to go to stay gorgeous forever?

Following the critically acclaimed LUCKY, Rachel Vail continues her poignant sisterhood trilogy with the rebellious middle Avery sister, Allison. Fiery, sarcastic, and just plain fun, GORGEOUS captures the heartbreak and hilarity in one girl's attempt to have it all.
(Synopsis from Goodreads)

Willa's Rambles:
Gorgeous, the enthralling sequel to Lucky, shows the middle sister's, Allison, side of the story. When she trades her cell phone with the devil, suddenly Allison is being noticed and thrown into the spotlight, a spot she may or may not like.
When you don't know who to trust, whether or not your old friends are right about your new best friend, and what really happened with your boyfriend, it's easy to lose control, right? But the real question is how far is Allison willing to go to be beautiful?
Allison is a fantastic character. She is real, conflicted, and confused, all the things that make us truly human. Her phone that she trades with devil would make me laugh every time it started making weird sound effects and buzzing at random times, and everyone would give Allison dirty looks. Allison's search for herself encounters some hurtles, but with the help of her friends and family, she comes out on the other side.
Roxie, Allison's new friend, was the best part! She was such a fun character, and she always knew exactly how to have fun with Allison. Roxie pushed Allison to do things she didn't normally do, and Allison came out stronger on the other side. She is my dream friend!
The thrilling ending to the trilogy, Brillant, will have a review up on Thursday! Go read Gorgeous!
